Where is Crow Canyon?

Crow Canyon is about 50 miles to the west of Durango. It takes a little longer than an hour to get there by bus. Although the place we are visiting is called Crow Canyon, it is actually an archeological research center located in a small, lovely valley with a grassy meadow, a small pond, and huge cottonwood trees. The gentle hills that surround Crow Canyon are covered with pinion and juniper trees. The area is lower and drier than Durango, and the temperature is often ten degrees warmer than it is in the Durango valley. Crow Canyon is truly an enchanting, wonderful place.
