Needham PTO Board Openings

PTO Board Positions Available:

PTO President
(Elected Position)
The President shall preside at all of the meetings of the organization and the executive committee, shall appoint the committees and committee chairman from a pool of volunteers, and shall perform other duties pertaining to the office. He/She shall work with the principal, teachers, and staff to correlate PTO events, fundraisers, and meetings with school programs. The President is a member of all standing committees and special committee. The President shall keep a book containing the Bylaws, correspondence, copies of each meetings minutes and all other pertinent information, which shall be passed on to the incoming president. The President must be present at all regularly scheduled PTO meetings, PTO events, and should be the point person in the planning and implementing of PTO fundraisers and events.


Vice President
(Elected position)
The Vice President shall take charge of all responsibilities of the president in his/her absence. The Vice President shall also work in any capacity delegated by the president and executive committee for the fulfillment of all school related activities, fundraisers, ect. Also shall be responsible for some program segments of regular meetings. The Vice President must attend all regularly scheduled PTO meetings, PTO events, and should be involved in the planning and implementing of PTO fundraisers and events.


Publicity Officer
(Elected position)
The Publicity Officer shall inform teachers and parents of all PTO relevant information. The President will advise the publicity officer of what information to distribute and of what sources to use for distribution. The Publicity Officer may delegate any of these communication tasks as he/she sees fit. This will include submitting information for the school newsletter, updating and managing the PTO website and Facebook page, updating and managing Volunteer Spot, sending PTO e-mails, and copying and distributing flyers. The Publicity Officer should be present at all regularly scheduled PTO meetings, PTO events, and should be involved in the planning and implementing of PTO fundraisers and events.
 
Wildcat Packs Coordinator
(Appointed position)
The Wildcat Packs Coordinator shall be in charge of the schools supplemental weekend food program for students. The coordinator shall get the number of families from the school nurse (who will get the families signed up). The coordinator shall keep up with communication and trainings with the food distributors. The Coordinator shall be responsible for arranging volunteers to help organize the food and distribute it to students. The coordinator will work with the PTO to provide extra supplemental foods for the students over the long school breaks. The Coordinator will submit updates on the program to the PTO President to be shared at regularly scheduled PTO meetings.

School Accountability Committee (SAC) Representative
(Appointed position)
The Sac Representative will attend monthly SAC meetings, reporting concerns expressed at PTO meetings and returning to PTO with a report from the monthly SAC meetings.

Teacher Representative
(Appointed Person)
The Teacher Representative shall serve as a liaison between the teachers, staff, and PTO Executive Board. The Teacher Representative should be present at all regularly scheduled PTO meetings.


PTO Secretary
(Elected position)
The Secretary shall keep a complete record of the proceedings of each meeting and read the minutes for approval. After the minutes are approved, the secretary will e-mail the minutes to the PTO e-mail list and post the minutes where necessary. The secretary shall also perform other duties as delegated. The Secretary must be present at all regularly scheduled PTO meetings, PTO events, and should be involved in the planning and implementing of PTO fundraisers and events.


PTO Treasurer
(Elected Position)
The Treasurer shall collect all dues (if applicable) and money forthcoming from any and all projects. The Treasurer shall make and keep a clear record of all monetary sums that pass into and out of the accounts. The Treasurer shall pay all bills and accounts against the organization once they have been properly verified. The Treasurer is responsible for financial integrity, monthly report of income and expense and year-end reporting of income, expenditures and the remaining balances. The Treasurer must be present at all regularly scheduled PTO meetings, PTO events, and should be involved in the planning and implementing of PTO fundraisers and events.
