As the communication from the district indicated, this closure is due to a positive case that our staff was exposed to when students were not in the building. Staff will be quarantining due to this contact, and all classes will pivot to remote learning. We will return to in person learning on Monday, November 16th.
If your family is in need of technology for the purpose of remote learning, please let your child’s teacher know as soon as possible. We have devices ready to distribute and will work to provide technology to each family who does not otherwise have access. You can also call Laura Mottershead in our main office at 970-247-4791. Please leave her a message and she will respond as quickly as possible.
If your family relies on school meals, please know that this service will continue for both breakfast and lunch. Please complete the form here and pick up meals daily from 11:30am-12:30pm at Needham.
We have worked diligently at Needham in order to ensure the safety of our students and staff, and are proud of the learning that has been able to occur because of these efforts. While this closure is a setback, we are still confident in our protocols, and can assure you that the recommendation to quarantine was out of an abundance of caution rather than a breakdown in the system.
Please know that while our model is shifting temporarily for all learners, our goal to provide a high quality educational experience remains the same. Please expect to hear from your child’s teacher in order to assess your child’s needs during this closure, and to share their remote learning plan for next week.
We will be hosting a parent Zoom meeting early next week to answer questions you may have. In the meantime, If you have any questions or concerns do not hesitate to reach out.
