Durango School District 9-R and Durango Fire Protection District announce the closing on the sale of the 9-R Administration Building parcel as of December 17th, 2021.

Buckley Park is not included in this transaction and 9-R will continue to negotiate with the City of Durango on that parcel.

4A Bond Project Improves Safety at Needham Elementary School

As part of the 4A Bond improvements, Needham Elementary School will benefit from improved traffic flow, increased pedestrian safety, and better Emergency Management Services (EMS) vehicle access in the event of an emergency. The current path of the parent drop off/pick up traffic intersects with student pedestrian traffic causing the potential for an unsafe scenario. In addition, Emergency Management Services (EMS) vehicle access is limited. With the redesign, EMS vehicles will be able to flow through the parking area rather than having to enter and then back out of a side parking lot.

November 2021 Bond Projects Summary

9-R continues to make progress on numerous projects across the district connected to the 4A Bond funding. In all, 14 Bond projects are in progress, with five additional projects slated for 2023 and 2024.
